The 706 Youth Community originated from a physical space in Beijing's Wudaokou area. It was initially known for organizing lectures, salons, and reading groups in the humanities and social sciences, while also providing accommodation (both short-term and long-term stays). As the community members became more diverse, the space gradually added lifestyle sections such as music, photography, travel, and living. As a public space, 706 requires a certain level of public expenditure to maintain the entire ecosystem's operation, while potentially lacking neutral funding sources. GCC's donation will effectively support 706's long-term sustainability and help maintain its neutrality.
