OpenRPC
OpenRPC is an Apache 2.0 open standard for describing JSON-RPC APIs, and it has been in use across the blockchain ecosystem for more than six years. The Ethereum execution layer, MetaMask, Chainlink, Filecoin, Celestia, and Starknet all use it to publish API specifications, and its NPM toolkits were downloaded more than 5.9 million times over the past year. In the JSON-RPC ecosystem, the lack of a specification layer causes a chain of problems: fragmented documentation, APIs drifting over time, fragile cross-team integrations, and repeated duplicated effort. This funding supports two concrete pieces of engineering work: releasing a production-ready Linter and upgrading the test coverage tooling to modern ESM modules, both foundational pieces for the continued evolution of the OpenRPC toolchain.
